WoW Farming on the Weekends: Tips for Effective Hunting and Gathering

WoW farming is a great way to increase your character’s status. You can enjoy the luxury that comes with having a hefty coin purse. You can buy items as you need them rather than having to save up or try to convince your guildees to craft things for you in their spare time. Plus, your character will earn experience in the process, which can be beneficial as well provided you are not at maximum level yet. Even if you are, you can minimize the amount of WoW farming time so you can spend more of your game play time doing other, more engaging activities.

Set a Time and Get to Work!

The first step is to set a time to do your WoW farming. Work it into your schedule however is best for you. Some people believe you must farm for hours on end, but you can break it down into hour long sessions or even shorter. Just remember to follow through and farm when you plan to. It is easy to get caught up in roleplaying, raiding, pvp or other aspects of the game and neglect replenishing your gold stores. If you can stick with your WoW farming schedule, you will notice an increase within a week.

Location, Location, Location!

Perhaps the second most important part of effective WoW farming is location. Do not spin your wheels in a place with a slow respawn timer or with creatures that drop next to nothing.  If you plan to gather materials during your WoW farming sessions, this is still important. Determine which level materials you want to farm and check WoW databases to find the best locations for spawn points for those items. The more chances you have to locate the herb, ore, or wood the better your WoW farming will go!

Profession Material Farming Vs. Mob Farming

You have two WoW farming options. The first is to gather materials crafters use to level up their professions and make items.  The other is to hunt a mob over and over for drops and coin.  There is no good answer as far as which you should do. It is a matter of personal preference. However, with material gathering, there is always a demand for specific items. Look at it this way; most players like to take up a profession. Many even take up multiple professions on multiple characters. Every new player is another potential customer who wants those materials. Every new character made is another potential customer. Since many people prefer to get right to skilling up and avoid the time consuming practice of WoW farming, you could turn a handsome profit.

Do not let WoW farming ruin your gaming experience. You do not have to farm every time you log in. Instead, follow these tips to get the most out of your farming sessions.  You will soon notice your gold quantities rising without sacrificing other exciting activities you love to participate in while playing. WoW farming can be a great way to gain gold and experience, if you know how!
