I looked into how to buy Akoo clothing and was pleasantly surprised. It is possible to buy AKOO both online and in retail stores across the United States. Several retailers carry the clothing line for men, which was originated by the rapper and hip hop artist known as T.I. Before deciding to buy TI Clothing, I wanted to make sure he was not a one hit wonder. Of course, I knew his most famous recording, Bring Em Out, since it is frequently played in NBA arenas, and even at Rutgers University football games. But, seriously, does anyone know any other song from The Baha Men besides Who Let The Dogs Out? That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I will not be buying the fashion line from The Baha Men.
AKOO Clothing Line is a different story. In 2009, T.I. was named one of the Top 10 Most Stylish Men in America by GQ Magazine. He also appeared simultaneously in XXL magazine, both as T.I., and as his alter ego TIP. AKOO stands for A King Of Oneself, which is also the title of T.I.’s 2008 award winning album. Regarding his self-titled “King of the South” moniker, T.I. advocates positive thoughts free from poison along with other quotes woth repeating. AKOO Clothing demonstrates the same positive mentality and creative streak that T.I. is known for when it comes to designing these high-quality clothes. T.I. described AKOO as bringing together men from all walks of life. Currently the company sells jeans with custom embroidery, hoodies and sweatshirts, polos, rugby-influenced shirts, button-downs, sweaters. The Infamous Snobby Fox logo is reminiscent of another upstart challenger to the establishment; it is both cool and effective. Quality remains high on all peices but prices have dropped to as little as $14.99 for some really sharp items. Those with extra Benjamins will want to look at the heavy coats in the Outerwear section, perfect for brutal Chicago and St. Louis winter winds.
AKOO’s design team is lead by Ralph Reynolds, who said in November of 2009 that he had personally been making clothes for over 40 years and is willing to pit AKOO Clothing against any sportswear brand. Reynolds was especially enthusiastic about the quality of AKOO Clothing, saying, “In order to deliver quality to the market, it’s gotta be good material, good sewing, good needle—the entire process. We design our own material including the stitch count and details. It all combines to have streetwear flare without being gaudy.” Enough said. I’m buying it.
