Benefits for the unemployed - are there any?

Barely recovering from the 2008 recession period and there are still a lot of lay offs and unemployment taking place in different countries around the world. In the United States alone, thousands of people are still relying on their unemployment benefits social security department has provided. The government is still trying to increase their budget for the unemployment sector has now started to set limitations on the benefits offered. Hundreds of people continue to line up in the social security department in their local state to check if there are unemployment benefits for them or if they are qualified to be granted of these benefits. According to the state of Arizona’s recent press statement, the unemployment benefits provided for selected individuals are being reviewed daily. There are still a lot of unemployed individuals who lined up everyday even if the state mentioned that they will be called to report to the social security office, should there be any developments. Some tried to be as calm as possible when receiving the decision made by the board but others are outraged. A government employer who does not want to be mentioned stated that there are unemployment benefits subject to social security tax. This applies to people who had a salary bracket of $90,000 to $130,000 gross income per year. Once these people receive a job placement, the state has to recover the money given to them to allocate it to other people who have yet to secure a job. The process is painful and stressful, most especially when everyday you see your friends and neighbors looking at you for any hint of good news. This dilemma is not only happening in the United States but also in Singapore, Japan, France and Germany.
