Wembley, Wembley we’re the famous Aston Villa and we’re going to Wembley. Wembley, Wembley we’re the famous Aston Villa and we’re going to Wembley. That was the chant from the stands as Aston Villa secured an illustrious 6-4 victory over Blackburn Rovers to reach the final of the cup, played at the country’s main football arena, Wembley. The score was 6-4 on the night but on aggregate (which means overall from the two legs) it was 7-4. Even our one eyed rivals can not say we didn’t deserve to win. Although we didn’t have the best of starts to the game, conceding two early goals, we came back to win the game. We had an awful start, the defence looked shaky and it looked as if the occasion had got to the players. However after we scored our first goal we never really looked back. Going on to score another incredible five goals. When the half time whistle went, the players went off and I presume that the way they played in the second half, they must have all had a big drink from the drinking fountain, to re-hydrate themselves and really get them going. This was the best game I had ever been to and probably the best game I had ever seen. It’s not often that there are ten goals in a match between two premier league teams and I think that everyone who watched the match will have been glad they did. Even the Blackburn fans were congratulating us on the victory. They obviously just appreciated seeing such a good team play as well as we did. After the first twenty minutes I believe we were unbeatable and hope we play like that every match!
