Blog with us!

Like most middle aged people in today’s world, I could stand to lose a few pounds. I thought I would create a blog: low calorie diet as a way to help record all the events as I head towards my “ideal weight”. From what I see, here are the three steps to losing weight:
Step #1 – The cornerstone to this diet is to eat as much food as you can which is low in calories. The theory being, if you “bulk up” (if this is the proper word) with this type of food, then there is less space in your stomach for all those other “things” that tempt us so much. You know, the cookies and cakes and potato chips…the list goes on. This means that this diet will focus a lot on vegan foods. What are those? Glad you asked. They are those foods that do not contain any animal products…no meat, no dairy, and no cheese. This means a diet focusing on whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. Before I scare you off completely, that’s the “Vegan” part of the diet…what about the “Semi-” part? I realize that it’s very difficult for someone to be totally vegan in today’s world, so we will still have some meat and dairy products from time-to-time. The key is to focus on the vegan side, and let the “semi-” side be from time to time…not the bulk of the diet.
Step #2 – Exercise is not the main part of this diet, but it is an important part none-the-less. I’m planning on getting 40 minutes of exercise each day. 5 minutes of warmup, 30 minutes of exercise, and 5 minutes of cooldown time. I’m also planning on alternating the type of workout sessions. For example, Day # 1 will be cardio, Day #2 will be uppper-body workout, Day #3 will be lower-body workout, Day #4 will be back to cardo, etc… You get the idea.
Step #3 – Journal it (or blog it as I have decided to do). Record the journey you are about to embark on. This web site is part of this idea, but I’m also keeping a spreadsheet of the various foods I’m eating, and the workouts I’m performing, and how I am feeling as I progress through this diet. As they say, if it’s worth doing, it’s worth recording.
Hope this is helpful to you!
